The Bosch 2 608 601 721 X-LOCK backing pad hook-and-loop is a replacement accessory for X-LOCK angle grinders, designed for sanding and polishing with hook-and-loop abrasive discs. With a diameter of 115 mm it fits Bosch X-LOCK grinders and provides a stable mounting surface for sanding paper and polishing pads. The pad is made of thermostable plastic to resist high temperatures and reduce the risk of breakage during intensive use.

Advantages

The X-LOCK design enables tool-free, fast and secure mounting and removal of the backing pad and sanding discs. The thermostable plastic construction improves resistance to heat and mechanical stress, while the special edge profile simplifies changing sanding paper. Hook-and-loop surface ensures reliable retention of abrasive discs during sanding and polishing operations.

How to use

Attach the backing pad to a compatible Bosch X-LOCK angle grinder by pushing and twisting until it locks in place. Fix a hook-and-loop abrasive disc or polishing pad onto the backing surface. Operate the grinder following the tool manufacturer's safety and operating instructions, applying steady, even pressure while moving the tool across the workpiece. Remove and replace abrasive discs by peeling them off the pad; to remove the backing pad, unlock the X-LOCK mechanism according to the grinder's instructions.

Recommendations

Ensure the grinder is switched off and unplugged (or battery removed) before fitting or removing the backing pad or abrasive discs. Use appropriate grit for the material and apply moderate pressure to avoid overheating; replace the backing pad if it becomes deformed or cracked.
