Convertisseur de média Digitus DN-82140

The DIGITUS Media Converter DN-82140 is a Gigabit PoE media converter that enables the transmission of Ethernet over fiber with a maximum distance of 80,000 m. It combines a Gigabit RJ45 port and an SFP fiber port, supports data rates up to 1000 Mbit/s and complies with standard IEEE networking specifications. The device supplies PoE with a budget of 30 W and is designed for reliable long-term operation with an MTBF of 500,000 hours.

Advantages

The Digitus DN-82140 provides a fast gigabit transfer rate and high transmission quality while offering enhanced failure safety. Its SFP module supports long-distance connections up to 80 km, and the built-in PoE PSE function supplies power over Ethernet to connected devices. The converter allows migration from copper to fiber optics without replacing the entire cabling and is designed for easy and intuitive installation.

Suitable for

• Extending network links over long distances (up to 80 km)
• Connecting PoE devices such as IP cameras, access points or VoIP phones
• Migrating from copper Ethernet to fiber optic infrastructure
• Gigabit backbone or connection between buildings and remote sites

How to use

Install the DN-82140 by inserting a compatible SFP transceiver into the SFP slot and connecting the fiber optic cable. Connect the copper side to your Ethernet device using a Cat5e/6 cable into the RJ45 port. Power the unit and configure connected devices according to your network settings. The PoE PSE function will supply power to compatible PoE endpoints when connected.

Recommendations

Place the media converter in a dry, well-ventilated environment and use SFP modules and fiber cables that match the desired wavelength and connector type. Ensure PoE power requirements of powered devices do not exceed the 30 W budget. For critical links, test fiber continuity and use appropriate surge protection where required.
