Adjust input levels in your recording software or on your interface to avoid clipping while preserving dynamics.

Recommendations

For best results, use a pop filter to reduce plosives, monitor with headphones to set gain correctly, and record in a quiet or acoustically treated space. Avoid extreme gain settings; aim for peaks around -6 dB to -12 dB in your recording software.
