Outil de sertissage Tecline 17000188

The Tecline 17000188 punch down tool is a hand tool designed for terminating individual wires into punch down blocks, patch panels and keystone jacks. It has a grey and red housing and a hardened steel blade that provides consistent cutting and seating of conductors. The tool's compact profile and balanced weight support controlled motion and precise placement of wires, reducing the likelihood of insulation damage or poor contact.

Advantages

The hardened steel blade offers long-lasting edge retention and accurate cutting of excess conductor, while the ergonomic handle reduces hand fatigue during repeated use. The tool's construction ensures stability when pressing wires into IDC contacts and facilitates clean terminations with minimal rework. Its straightforward single-action mechanism allows reliable seating and trimming in one motion.

Suitable for

• Terminating telecommunication and data cables into punch down blocks and patch panels
• Installing or repairing keystone jacks and modular outlets
• Field service and on-site network maintenance
• Home networking and DIY wiring projects

Key specifications

• Blade material: hardened steel for durable cutting performance
• Handle: ergonomic design for improved grip and control
• Color: grey and red housing for easy identification among tools
• Function: combined seating and cutting action for insulation displacement contacts
• Weight and size: compact, hand-operated tool suitable for confined spaces

How to use

Position the conductor into the target IDC slot on the punch down block or jack, align the tool blade over the wire and apply steady downward pressure until the mechanism seats the conductor and trims the excess. Maintain a perpendicular orientation to the termination surface to ensure a clean cut and reliable contact. Inspect the termination visually to confirm that the conductor is properly seated and that any trimmed ends are removed from the work area.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment when working with sharp tools and live circuits. Store the punch down tool in a dry place to prevent corrosion of the blade, and check the blade condition periodically; replace the tool if the cutting edge becomes dull or damaged to avoid incomplete terminations.
