Pare-soleil Canon ES-68

The Canon ES-68 lens hood is made to fit the EF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens. Constructed from durable plastic with a dark matte interior, it reduces stray light entering the lens and helps minimise lens flare and unwanted glare while adding physical protection against bumps and scratches. The hood connects securely via a threaded fitting that clips into the mounting ring and weighs approximately 51 g, making it lightweight and easy to carry.

Advantages

The ES-68 blocks stray light and reduces lens flare, improving image contrast. Its dark matte interior prevents internal reflections, and the secure thread fitting ensures a stable attachment. The plastic construction provides impact and scratch protection without adding significant weight.

Suitable for

• Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens
• Portrait and general-purpose photography where stray light may affect image quality
• Outdoor shooting to reduce flare from strong side light
