Pince multiprise Knipex Cobra XL

The Knipex Cobra XL slip-joint pliers combine the gripping performance of water pump pliers with a lighter weight and larger gripping capacity than comparable pipe wrenches. With a length of 400 mm, a maximum pipe/tube diameter capacity of 90 mm and a maximum nut size of 95 mm, the Cobra XL fits into a plumber's tool kit while providing strong, adjustable gripping force for plumbing and mechanical tasks.

Advantages

These slip-joint pliers offer a high gripping capacity while weighing approximately 1.21 kg, roughly 50% less than a 2" pipe wrench of comparable length. The adjustable jaw system enables quick size changes and secure, slip-resistant clamping across a wide range of pipe and nut diameters. The compact 400 mm length balances reach and manoeuvrability, making the tool practical for confined working spaces.

Suitable for

• Plumbing: gripping and turning pipe fittings and connectors
• Mechanical work: holding and turning nuts and bolts
• Maintenance tasks where adjustable, secure gripping is required
• On-site repair kits where tool weight and size matter

Place the jaws on the pipe, tube or nut, then apply steady force to turn or hold the workpiece. For best results, ensure the gripping surfaces are fully engaged on the workpiece and avoid sudden, impact forces that could damage fittings.

Recommendations

Use the Knipex Cobra XL for tasks requiring adjustable, secure gripping. Choose the correct jaw position before applying force, inspect the pliers for wear before use, and store them in a tool kit to protect the adjusting mechanism and jaws.
