Once connected, the docking station should be recognized by the operating system; install drivers if prompted by the OS. Plug an Ethernet cable into the RJ-45 port to access wired network services and connect USB peripherals to the Type-A port for data transfer. Place the dock on a stable surface close to the host device to avoid tension on the cable.

Recommendations

For stable network performance, use a Cat5e or better Ethernet cable and keep firmware/drivers up to date according to the operating system's guidance. Avoid exposing the unit to liquids or extreme temperatures and disconnect the device by safely removing network shares or unmounting storage devices before unplugging.
