Transmetteur réseau Veracity LONGSPAN VLS-1P-C

The Veracity LONGSPAN VLS-1P-C is a network transmitter (camera unit) that extends PoE and Ethernet data over a single Cat5e/Cat6 cable pair for long-distance IP camera and network device connections. It delivers the full 200 Mbps bandwidth required for reliable 100Base-T operation at extended ranges and supports automatic power sourcing from the LONGSPAN base unit. The unit is compact and intended for point-to-point use without mid-cable equipment, simplifying installation and configuration.

Advantages

LONGSPAN VLS-1P-C provides reliable delivery of up to 200 Mbps over Cat6 up to 840 metres (or Cat5e up to 690 metres) and can automatically fall back to 10Base-T to reach distances beyond 1000 metres. Installation is simple due to automatic self-configuration and a point-to-point design with no requirement for mid-span devices. The unit supports single-pair UTP on legacy cabling and complies with IEEE 802.3af/at for PoE, while its compact form factor and low power consumption facilitate discreet mounting and efficient operation.

Suitable for

• Long-distance IP camera connections using Cat5e or Cat6 cabling
• Remote network devices requiring PoE where mid-cable power is not available
• Upgrading legacy analogue runs to digital using single-pair UTP
• Installations needing point-to-point, low-power, compact network transmitters

How to use

Connect the LONGSPAN VLS-1P-C camera unit to an IP camera or other remote network device and link its network port to the corresponding LONGSPAN base unit using Cat5e or Cat6 cable. Power is supplied from the base unit over the same cable pair. The devices automatically negotiate link speed and power; no mid-cable equipment or manual configuration is required. For greatest bandwidth and range, use Cat6; where cable length exceeds supported 100Base-T ranges the system will negotiate a 10Base-T link to maintain connectivity.

Recommendations

Use quality Cat6 cable for maximum bandwidth and range when deploying high-resolution or high-motion IP cameras. Verify compatibility of camera PoE requirements with the LONGSPAN base unit and follow standard grounding and surge-protection practices for outdoor or exposed cable runs.
