Passe-câble EFB Elektronik 37546.6-100

The EFB Elektronik 37546.6-100 cable boot is a protective accessory designed for RJ-45 connectors. Manufactured in a durable red material, the boot provides strain relief at the connector-cable interface and reduces the risk of bending or abrasion that can cause intermittent connections or damage. The compact design fits standard modular plugs used in Ethernet and other data cabling applications and is intended to prolong connector life and maintain reliable network performance.

Advantages

This cable boot offers mechanical protection for the connector shroud and the cable jacket, preventing sharp bends at the plug exit and reducing stress on the crimped area. The bright red colour aids in visual identification and cable management. The flexible yet robust material provides a balance between easy installation and long-term durability, helping to maintain consistent electrical contact in network installations.

Suitable for

• Ethernet and network patch cables with standard RJ-45 plugs
• Office and data centre cabling where strain relief is required
• Environments requiring colour-coded cable identification

Key specifications

• Compatibility: designed for modular RJ-45 connectors
• Function: strain relief and connector protection
• Material characteristics: flexible, impact-resistant polymer
• Colour: red for easy identification
• Form factor: compact boot profile suitable for standard plugs

How to use

Slide the boot onto the cable before attaching the RJ-45 plug, ensuring the narrower end faces the connector. After crimping the plug onto the cable, push the boot forward until it fully covers the plug shroud and seats against the connector body to provide strain relief. Check that the boot does not obstruct the connector latch and that the cable exits without sharp bends for optimal performance.

Recommendations

For best results, use this cable boot on cables with outer diameters matching common patch and solid conductor cables. Use colour-coded boots to organise cable runs and to quickly identify specific connections in rack or patch panel setups.
