Passe-câble ShiverPeaks 72057-S

The ShiverPeaks 72057-S cable boot is designed for RJ-45 connectors and provides a protective covering for network cables. Its black, durable construction reduces strain on cable terminations, shields the connector latch from snags, and helps maintain a secure connection. The accessory is suitable for a range of environments where reliable Ethernet cabling is required, from office installations to home networks and light industrial settings.

Advantages

The boot’s resilient material increases the lifetime of patch cables by reducing repeated bending and abrasion at the connector. Its snug fit around the RJ-45 plug prevents accidental unplugging and protects the clip from catching on racks, pockets or cable management trays. The simple, tool-free design makes it quick to install and compatible with common cable diameters used in Ethernet assemblies.

Suitable for

• Protecting RJ-45 Ethernet patch cables in office and home networks
• Preventing accidental disconnections in server rooms and network cabinets
• Use with patch panels, switches and networked devices where cable strain relief is needed
• Field cabling and light industrial environments requiring durable connector protection

Key specifications

• Compatible connector: RJ-45 (8P8C) plugs
• Color: black
• Material: flexible, impact-resistant polymer
• Function: strain relief and latch protection for network cables
• Fit: designed for standard Ethernet cable diameters and plug dimensions

How to use

Slide the boot onto the cable before fitting the RJ-45 plug, or remove the boot and reinstall it if retrofitting existing terminated cables when the design allows. Position the boot so it fully covers the connector body and the area where the cable meets the plug for optimal strain relief. Ensure the boot does not obstruct the plug’s contacts or the proper seating of the connector in jacks and ports.

Recommendations

For best results, use the cable boot on cables with standard insulation diameters; verify physical fit on a sample cable before large-scale deployment. Regularly inspect boots in high-traffic or high-movement installations and replace any showing significant wear to maintain reliable connections.
