Passe-câble ShiverPeaks 72057-Y

The ShiverPeaks 72057-Y cable boot is a protective accessory designed for RJ-45 connectors. Molded from resilient material, the boot slips over the connector to shield the plug and strain relief area from abrasion, snagging and everyday wear. Its bright yellow color improves visibility in patch panels, network racks and crowded cable runs, helping technicians locate and identify cables quickly.

Advantages

The cable boot provides mechanical protection for the RJ-45 plug, reducing the risk of bent pins and damaged housings during handling and installation. It supports fixed strain relief to maintain a secure connection and minimize stress at the cable exit point. The colored finish increases visibility for easier cable management and identification in mixed or dense installations.

Suitable for

• Patching Ethernet cables in data centers and server rooms
• Office LANs and structured cabling systems
• Field installations where visible cable identification is required
• Audio-visual setups and home networks with multiple connections

Key specifications

• Connector compatibility: RJ-45 (8P8C) plugs
• Material: flexible protective polymer designed for durability
• Color: high-visibility yellow for easy identification
• Function: strain relief and mechanical protection for connectors
• Form factor: slip-on design compatible with standard modular plugs

How to use

Slide the boot onto the cable before crimping the RJ-45 plug, ensuring the narrow end faces the cable jacket. After crimping the connector, push the boot forward until it covers the plug body and the cable exit, providing strain relief and protection. Confirm that the latch protrudes correctly through the boot opening to allow secure mating and release when connecting to ports.

Recommendations

Use the ShiverPeaks cable boot on standard Ethernet cables to reduce mechanical wear and simplify cable identification. Choose the yellow variant when visibility is important in patch panels, cable trays or bundled cable runs. Do not force oversized plugs through the boot; verify compatibility with the plug profile before installation.
